Good for you, David! I admire your stick-to-itiveness. Age and illness force us to make adjustments we don't particularly care to.

I'm 82, in excellent health (cross my fingers), but just last year I learned the value of a walker. There were icy patches behind my house on the way to the garage that were really very frightening. A friend asked if I had a walker, and it really put my nose out of joint. I replied with an indignant, "No."

But later I got to thinking: my recently deceased mother's walker was in my garage. I brought it to the house, and started using it whenever there was ice. I quickly learned ..... six legs are certainly a lot steadier than two!
