Love it in batik! There aren't directions in the book for a scrappy quilt (each block made from two different fabrics and no two blocks the same) but I think that may be my next project. You could use a neutral background for all, but cut the star points from all of your scraps and then mix them up. However, a large floral or print of some kind would give a lot of color. I think in the back of the book there is a picture of a polka dot quilt that has different colors. I really think ANYTHING will look nice with this pattern. ;-)
