Similar breakdown at my house back in 2008. Didn't leave a load running but water supply hose (the one that is 'on' all the time) burst behind the machine and flooded the house. (and fried the electronics of the washer) Thank you State Farm Insurance for new washer, new carpet, new vinyl, new baseboards, repaired drywall and painting....what a mess. That was when I started the de-clutter project. Have sold or given away more than half of my collections of stuff and don't find that I'm missing anything...for future, check the washer hoses every 5 years...and don't store anything on the floor unless it is in a plastic tub! Best wishes, you'll get through it!
