Hum-m-m, I thought you said dad's friend does not care for colors of blue, green etc., etc. So are these quilt photos just the pattern you will be using since my screen colors appear to be blues and greens.
If I were making a quilt for a gentleman, I would utilize earth tone colors. Of yours posted, I like #2 but they are all nice. You are fortunate to have this thing called an EQ5 and able to see before you make. Visuals do help, even if they are colored pencils and graph paper as I do it. Good luck and do post your finished quilt.
