Have not used the expensive ones but have used the plastic disposible razors - work from the wrong side and patiently, carefully run it over the stitches. Use twizers to remove cut stitches so can see your progress. Of course, if trying to do this while fabric is in the hoop, must not stretch fabric or stitches will not line up.
