I had that problem too, but mine didn't smell musty, more like a chemical smell, I put it in a plastic tub with lid and sprinkled baking soda in between the layers of fabric, I had earlier tried to just put an open box of baking soda in a bag with the fabric, but that didn't work soooo....if this doesn't work I may wait till spring and set it outside, it's a shame because I really liked the fabric scraps that I ordered off of EBay
