I have sewn by binding to the front of my quilt and I have run the needle through the edge of it leaving a tail between the layers of the quilt. The 2nd picture is the one i don't get, is the blue thread suppose to be between the layers also and you just had it on top so we could see? I think it's a super idea if I can just understand where to stitch and how. Thanks

When you start to make your ladders, the stitches go between the layers on the quilt . When you make your stitch in the binding put the needle in right at the fold then go back and make a stitch between the layers of the quilt. Do this a few times until you have a few ladders, then gently pull your thread. When you pull your thread, the ladders will disappear.
