"Thangles" are pre-cut strips of paper that are marked with sewing and cutting lines for making 1/2 square triangles. Various quilting supply places sell them. I started writing a long explanation about how they work and then decided to check their website. They do a much better job than I do and they also have a video tutorial, so check there for a demonstration. I even learned how to do 1/4 square triangles too when I watched it. The biggest advantage to using them, besides the accuracy, is that you cut all your fabric strips the same width for squares, and all your triangles. No more 7/8th rule. Go to www.thangles.com and see for youself! (No, I don't work for the company. I'm just a satisfied customer.)
