Gee, when I was injured I didn't get to appeal my injuries! I didn't get to appeal all of the surgeries! I didn't to appeal my termination! So, why does the company get to appeal their responsibility?
My husband went through the same problems. When the lawsuit was settled (Arizona), social security then took away part of his benefits each month until the money he received from Arizona lawsuit was paid back to social security. This happened in 1981. Not knowing what the current laws are, back then Reagan passed a law that any lawsuit compensation arriving from injury must be deducted from any social security payments. To me, it was wrong! Hope this does not happen to you. Nobody, even the lawyers, told us until we got the letter from social security about 3 months later.
