Whatever the use, it is beautiful!
Our Home and Community Education group, used to be called Homemakers, were asked to make them. Actually they are called Passsage Quilts and they are placed over the black bag as a person is removed from a home or accident or nursing home after they have passed on. So the family remembers the quilt and not the bag. Our local funeral home director stopped me one day and said, I took the baby size to the hospital to pick up a still born child, instead of putting the baby into a bag I just wrapped it in the quilt, Not only the parents, but the staff cried and thanked me as I carried the baby to the hearse. Now that makes it all worthwhile. They use them over and over. We have had great reviews about them. We make sets of one adult, one youth and one baby for each place that asks for them. We even made patriotic ones for the Veteran Homes.
Thank you for doing this kindness. It is things like this that will be remembered in times of grief. You and your group are so wonderful!
