Just finished the borders...the last piece was being sewed on wrong side down, so I had to rip some and start again. Bargellos are so stretchy, it was tricky to get the borders on and not have them wonky. I hate how there's a seam so close to the ends... but I thought it'd make it without extra.
The first border is 1.25", the second is 1" and the third is 3" (will be when finished). A friend gave me the idea to make the middle border more narrow. I wish I had made the decision sooner and made the first border wider. Oh well. Hind sight. I like it, but it's way too big to fit on a wall (46 by 60)... so it'll have to be a lap quilt. Well--there's one wall it'd fit on, but my barn quilt is there and one wouldn't be able to stand back enough to see the effect.
The run of fabrics below is what I've picked out to make a wildflower meadow using the Bargello pattern Surf Song--in the Twist and Turn Bargello Quilts, but not just yet. I have some other stuff to finish up first.
Hate those seams!!
