I made this quilt for my grand-niece, Quinn, who is now 6mos old. We have a photo of her in a luscious tutu of light to fuscia pinks and that inspired me to create this pink, white and black quilt. It's the first time I made pinwheels and they are all not perfect but I don't think she'll care.
I decided that i wanted something kind to set off the blocks from the borders so I made a small narrow border that is what i call a flange. It's a 1.25" strip of mini black with white fabric, folded wrong sides together and sewn to the edge of the block section with the fold towards the center.
I used fleece as the backing and I'm not sure I'd do that again because it made it hard to move around to FMQ but I think it looks and feels great.
Thanks for looking!
