Yesterday, I told you about my husband's friend who offered me all the fabric from his sister's estate.
Here are the things my husband brought home .... I am so disappointed. I was hoping for some quilting cotton, but it is all very old (I say 1964 because we found a Workbasket magazine with that date) upholstery fabric that not only has the terrible smell of the old wood chest it was stored in but is quite brittle. Most of it is basically garbage. I will clean a couple pieces and if it doesn't fall apart, will make into shopping bags. The yarn, I will see if my daughter would like as she crochets.
Does anyone know of a way to get the "old" smell out of the polyester fiberfill? If I can't remove the smell, it is useless! I can't give a stuffed doll to a child with this smell!
I am thinking I will try to sell the hook rug kits and the tapestry at my garage sale this summer. The guy said we could do what-ever with the stuff.
