This would be a cute idea :D check your batting for the stitching requirements and go for it :wink:

I don't think it matters whether the blocks are pieced or appliqued, as long as the block is quilted some way before adding on the sashing or turning back the backing and back ground fabric. (depending on what method you are using) :D:D:D
