All of your ideas sound great. I think we could do several things with this, with varied level of participation. I think reading a quilt related novel and discussing it as we go along would be cool and when we finish the book, we could each make small wall hanging. The wall hanging could be just one block that you feel represents the book, something more artistic along the lines of an art quilt or any type of quilt that demonstrates your "response" to the book ..ie what feelings it evoked in you.
Some quilting themed books are about friendship or family, some are mysteries, some are set in quilt shops or around guilds. There is lots to relate to, both on a light level and at times something deeper. I'm glad to hearof some interest. I think what I will do is set up a diary and try to organize this. Participate as much or as little as you want. Time limits would have to be set, maybe a month to read the book (most are quick reads) and then a month to make our quilts. We'll be talking and sharing the whole way. I'll throw out a question for each chapter and feel free to add your own questions, comments and observations. After our quilts are finished, we cn share our photos and tell about our quilt. Someone asked about a book swap. A great idea. Let's try to keep it to quilting novels for now. If you have a book to swap, just post on the diary. When I do the first few posts, I'll list some of the books I am familiar with, and if you know of any or have a suggestion for our first book, please respond to the diary. Look for the diary on Thursday under the heading - creativesheila quilt book club. If anyone knows of a better place on the forum to set this up, let me know. Thanks Sheila
