Well I disagree, because you will have trouble putting it together....What I would do is trim each block, by layng a ruler or pattern on top and cutting around it so they are all the same size. If you are brave, you can cut each block diagonaly into 4 triangles. Now you will have interesting shapes to arrange - try a pinwheel to start.
You could cut each block into a nine pieces (like a nine patch),.making interesting squares to sew together.
