assuming you mean...$7.96 & $3.98 a yard and not the hundreds you quoted...it is a good deal but how much you should buy depends on how much you use that dark of fabrics? if you tend to use alot of black in your quilts then buy it all if you can afford it. if you don't use black often than just pick up a yard to have handy. if it is $398.00 a yard i would not even be thinking about it, it would have to be gold plated
