If you get him to make you one and he wants to make more, I am also interested. I would love to have one but haven't convinced myself yet to spend the bucks for this one. Sure looks like it would be simple enough to make if you are good working with wood.
However, it also includes, and I quote from the site: "The retractable insert is made of heavy flannel with vinyl backing and mounted on a steel rod with a super heavy duty steel spring which enables your design to "vanish" when you aren't working on it! Yes, your fabric will roll up - allowing you to pick up where you left off, all your pieces in tact!"
How would you find that component of the unit? Is it as simple as a pull down shade? Seems like it would need to be heavier duty and where would you get the heavy flannel with vinyl backing to put on the shade? Questions, questions. Hope you find the answers and post for us.
