I do a simple shawl with fleece. Cut 28" x the width of fabric. Hem the edges with usually a machine blanket stitch. Then I add pockets to the ends. That way there is always a place for a tissue or two, or cold hands. If you want to fringe the ends, you will need to make it wider with a seam at the center back. These go quickly and can make several in a day when you find a good sale on fleece.
