While great for keeping fabric neat, the acid in the wood will discolor the fabric over time. It was suggested on another thread to use the material that the political signs are made from, a plactic-y cardboard. (BTW, I cut plexi to be 9" then wrapped the fabric ~ each fold is 1/4 yard, I slip the plexi out for the next fabric)

If you don't leave the plexi in the fabric does that mean you lay the fabric down and stack on top of each one? I tried that, but I have a shelf unit that is 15" deep and each of the stacks would fall over backward if you just touched them.
