My husband's aunt has an old yoyo quilt. It is made of yoyos stitched to a double layer of a fairly sheer background. She asked me if I could quilt it for her. I told her (I hope this is right
) that it is like a cathedral window quilt and is not really quilted. It was finished as it was. It is in very good condition but a few yoyos need stitched back together a little better. I think the colors might be a little brighter if it were washed.

Can it be carefully washed in a tub? Is there a chance some of the darker colors will fade onto the lighter ones? Would we be better off leaving it as is?

Also she is storing it it a plastic comforter bag. She would like to display it. Would it be ok to loosely drape over a curtain rod if she refolds it regularly?
Thanks
