The ribbed cuffs from tightly knit socks can be re-used as cuffs on jacket sleeves or added to the end of children's pant legs to extend the length or make warmer/more snugly. I've recycled dozens of toe-less/heel-less sock cuffs onto other clothing items.
I am compulsively frugal and don't waste anything! :o)
