Trina, I do as you do prewash to remove chemicals and to take the shinkage out. I also tried clipping the corners... didn't work for me either.

My solution: I keep a pair of scissors by my washing machine and cut strings before putting in dryer. It's faster than pinking the edges or anything else. Just comes with the territory. I usually just put a smile on and deal with it.
