I love your new twist on the D9P!! Your quilt will be great! I agree w/some others, be careful w/adding sashing as it may break-up the lines of your new design too much. If it were mine I would add some plain borders, maybe one in a light fabric from the quilt and one in a dark. Whatever you decide I'm sure the end result will be great!
