Didn't do much for me. I found it doesn't really guide the quilt (unlike a 1/4'' foot guides the fabric), I think the metal guide is simply meant as a help for eyeballing it...
I'm finding a walking foot much more useful for SID (and I was super skeptical about that one, would never have bought one but it came with my new machine!).
