Mm nice. I do like the way the pattern flows out into the border, so it's floating yet not...

Love the pieced border strip, too, I've been debating with myself whether to use one in the pair of quilts I'm making for my parents at the moment... I think you've convinced me that yes! :D

Re quilting, I love Andi's advice to create segments. So much easier on the shortarm!
I'd tend to make some feathers first (or perhaps slightly more flamey, spiky shapes instead of the rounded hooks - because to me this quilt has a lot of fire!). For instance, feathers along the long blue X, with a multi-layered flame for each pink shape. Then I'd look afterwards how to fill in the other segments. Making it up as I go along again, lol...
