Our children surprised us with this quilt for our 40th wedding anniversary. I have made quilts for all of my children and all my Grandchildren and when my daughter asked me for the scraps from my quilts, I never thought anything of it, because she has done some quilting in the past. Well, the sneaky kids that they are took my scraps to the lady in our town that quilts and does longarming as well, and asked her if she would make a quilt out of the scraps. She so very graciously accepted the challenge and this is what she came up with. Now keep in mind the white and the burgundy are not fabrics from my scrap bin, they bought those especially for the quilt. Another thing, she did this as her gift to my DH and I, and never charged my kids for making the quilt or for quilting it, although they did buy her a gift certificate to a quilt shop as their thanks to her. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
