When cutting a one block wonder quilt, is it just as good to split the fabric in half (as I was instructed to do in the Stack and Whack book)? I find it easier to cut a 21 inch stack of strips than to try to cut a 42 inch strip. My thought is that you would have as many hexagons and you may waste a little fabric, and require extra stacking. But is the end result the same?

How are those cubes that we see in the OBW made? I am sure it is in some book, but not in the one that we have.
