It sounds like your quilt might be a scrap type quilt. In that case I would purposely place any colors that pop from the rest of the quilt where I felt they didn't form a pattern or march around the edges or congragate together in a group on the quilt. When you do your layout on your design wall, play around with different ways to distibute them that looks pleasing, but natural to you. Fabrics that are different from the rest of those in the quilt can work in our favor. With careful placement, they cause the eye to wander around the quilt as it's drawn to that unique element. :-D
