The woven blocks were made with narrrow strips of fabric sewn into tubes and then turned right side out and woventogether and a couple blocks were twisted together. There is a dark purple cording on each side of the inner border. I made the cording from another batik. I used 5 strands of crocet thread inside the cording. I am a former bridal seamstress so some of the techniques are bridal and some are quilting and some I just made up as I went along. It was quite a chalenge to make this quilt. It took a long time, too.
There are two blocks that were just tucks that were stitched going different directions and an embroidery stitch was sewn on top of the stitching line. I just made up some things as I sewed.
Thank you for all the compliments.
Wow. Stunning! Thank you for sharing about your techniques, that's amazing work, and so personal to you.
Would we maybe be able to coax you into doing a tutorial for us, for those amazing 3D effects? Very pretty please? :D
