The older stuff is not going to shrink so you're ok there. Given your excellent work on these blocks, you should be able to handle assembling the quilt on point. Finally, I like the dark blue sashing. I like how it makes the secondary squares with the cornerstones.
I put all the blocks on top of a big piece of the navy...and it really makes them stand out so nice...and does create another block without it being so busy. Then red for the centers or even using a variety of the colors for the centers...this is where I'm leaning right now. Thanks for the insight on the secondary squares.
