I'd like to finish it off by doing a sort of free hand quilting - loops and swirls, but not sure how to accomplish this. I normally use the plastic templates and mark the quilt. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I use Floriani embroidery Wet N Gone Fusible stabilizer, It's sheer so I can trace my quilting pattern, fuse it to the quilt top, it stays in place, do the quilting, and it washes away when finished.
The best price I have found is located at Erica's Crafts, here is a link http://www.ericas.com/embdesigns/sta...s_floriani.htm

If you try this method, you won't go back to marking, believe me it works great, especially if you do feathers.
