Thanks so much for your comments everyone. I like the way the octagons has picked up the warmer colours in this fabric I guess this will vary from fabric to fabric!
amma, you put into words exactly what I was thinking about the flow etc and from now on it's at least 14 repeats of every fabric you buy, right? LOL...
