I have the 6500. I've had it for about seven years and I LOVE it. It is my work-horse. Thousands of hours worth of sewing and NO problems... not one. I keep it cleaned of lint and oiled. Haven't ever had it in the shop, either.
I also have a Janome 1600P and a mini-Janome. You will LOVE it!
