This is True, But if you have enough to fold it double, get it as close to the raw edge as possible wouldn't that be the same as a double fold. I am doing a quilt now.. got it sandwiched and baisted together. Gonna STID on blocks,stipple the flowers using freemotion. Haven't marked the borders yet but gonna put Ivy vines on them.. The back is large enough to use as binding soooo as I stated folding double wouldn't that be the same as the double fold??? it would be a double thickness.
I do my own quilting on my domestic Kenmore, if it is a large quilt takes some doing but I have always managed. :-D BillsBonBon
