Cut the batting the same size as the block. Cut the backing 2 inches larger. Measure 1 inch inward on the backing and mark. Align the block and batting, centered on the backing (at the mark). pin together. Quilt any way you want, all the way to the edge. Attach the back of the blocks together to the front, then fold the front edge over twice and top stitch. This makes a border around the block and attaches the blocks together.
