I am building a 2nd border with blocks of the original fabric, but not sure I want to use it. Nancy, I love the colors and the pattern of your quilt. The paino key border is too busy and detracts from your quilt. I would add a 4-5" border to the dark purple in the darkest color of any of the block colors. Then I'd add a 6-8" border of the lighter shade of which ever color you chose from the blocks. This way you would blend shades of the existing block colors and would be pleasing to the eye. The blocks are the focal point of your quilt and the border is like double matting a picture frame. I can't wait to see it all quilted. :thumbup:
