I like them for what everyone else said as well. I am not afraid to take apart, carefully, my older/vintage machines but I'm afraid that if I do too much to the one year old machine, it'll quit working properly. Now some of the vintage machines don't have many/any extra feet but vintage Singers have gobs of them. For me, it's partly the thrill of the hunt finding one that could use a home where it's loved and appreciated and used.
