It looks like the protective coating over the decals is crazed. I would be so very careful with whatever you use. It could wind up silvering the decals. Billy says to use the non-pumice go-jo, but with the damage, it might silver. Ask me how I know! Try it in a hidden spot on the back and stop if you see any silvering. For the handwheel and the plate on the back, he says to use Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish. Wow! That stuff really works great, but takes lots of rubbing. My hands felt like they would fall off. But the results were worth it! Take them off the machine, first!

Oops. Didn't put a before for this one, but it was the same as the back plate. Some of the rust pits were too deep and didn't polish out all the way.
