Hello Hatchet! Are you longarm quilting? I am a longarm quilter and I have found the simpler you make it the better. Here is how I charge....for a pantograph or meander....a straight .02 per square inch. Measure the side, measure the length, multiply those together, multiply that figure by .02 and you have it. For custom, which is anything I have to use a ruler for, or do separate blocks.....is .05 per square inch. I also add a thread fee...for plain, one color thread it is $5.00 per quilt and for fancy verigated, like King Tut, it is a $10.00 fee. Also, have a minimum of $50.00 for your simple quilt...or you may end up with lots of placemats to quilt and have a lot of work and hardly any $$! Good luck to you, I hope you make bunches of bucks!
