Let me take that back, now that I've actually SWALLOWED some of my morning coffee ...

eBay's attraction is that you get something for less than you expected, hopefully a LOT less than expected, so I'd guess that prices would be on the low side.

I'd find the closest licensed distributor for that manufacturer, and make a day trip out of it - I'd stop by for an assessment by sewing machine shop (maybe they'd even be willing to buy it on the spot for resale) and stop by any quilt shops between home and the machine shop to see what's selling these days and to check out the quilt. shop samples
Actually, I find ebay pricing to be rather high. Sewing machines fetch more on ebay than they do locally.
