I have never been able to use a thimble either. I don't know about Roxanne  . Who is "she"?

My problem lies in holding the needle while wearing the thimble. I suppose I'm just a klutz, but I hold a needle with my thumb, index and middle fingers. Am I too old to learn a new trick? I'm told that you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
