Hi! My name is Amy and I have been lurking for a little while enjoying the pictures and the wonderful information.

I am an engineer and I travel (on the road waaaay more than I'm at home!) all over the US. I am a beader, but I have, in the past few years, started hearing the call of the quilt.

I originally hail from Ohio, was educated in Ohio and WV, currently live in PA, and am working in SC :)

I have pieced 3 queen sized(or bigger...) tops thus far and a throw. My mom is/has quilted 2 of the tops, and I've tied the other two.

I've learned that my lifestyle lends itself to hand-piecing quilts, as opposed to machine stitching them, as there is only so much room in a Dodge neon, when I have to pack up and move to a new location...The beads usually get my allotted "hobby space", but a ziplock baggie of pieces fits in a door pocket!

My current works in progress include a hand-pieced QAYG Ohio Star, a machine pieced and machine quilted quilt for my best friend (its a picture from an optical illusion coloring book that I've blown up to queen sized), a machine pieced "broken log cabin"throw from allpeoplequilt.com, and a machine pieced, meticulously cut, pinned, etc broken star.

Why aren't they done? I'm actively working on the Ohio star, I need more fabric for my bff's quilt, I didn't want to get too far into the log cabin without having finished the other ones yet, and the broken star? That one requires time and dedication, not a few stolen minutes. I want the star to be the perfect and puckerfree.

Well, that's a little glimse into my corner!
