Me too; I worked on practice pieces and then graduated to small projects like placemats, wallets, and cosmetic bags for a good year before I even tried an actual quilt. My best advice it to EXPECT a long learning curve. Your first attempts won't meet your expectations; keep practicing and learn to enjoy the process along the way!
