Another thing you can do with the double knit is cut it into strips and make crocheted or braided rugs. I have also seen a rug made with 2 inch squares folded in half to make a triangle and then partly layered and sewn in strips on a piece the size of the rug you want. I have been told that the rugs never wear out, and are easy to wash.
