Helen is the owner at Heartbeat in Hyannis. It's a very nice store with all the up to date fabrics. What I like about that store is that they have samples hung up all over the place of their patterns, with the patterns right there for you to buy. If I love an item made up, I will definitely buy the pattern. It's sometimes hard to visualize it made up, so this is a big plus for that store.
Tumbleweed is a few miles away and is another wonderful store. They do have up to date fabrics, but they also have some older fabrics. They have patterns and books and a little room devoted to seasonal fabrics. I always visit this store when I go on retreats at the Cape.
There's another store called Murray's a little further up on the Cape in Orleans. It's a small store with up to date fabrics, but worth it to go there. They are a Janome dealer.
I have also been to Keepsake Quilting, though quite a few years ago - actually before they moved into the section of where they are in now. At that time, it was the biggest quilt shop in America. I was very impressed with it. I remember that they had a 4th of July sale in the parking lot every year that was always mobbed. Someday I will go there again.
I am so happy to hear about their wonderful customer service. I haven't ordered from them in a while, but when I did, I remember that they always shipped fast, and their packaging was very well done.
