But I would buy it again in a minute. I think it is a great machine for just straight stitching (piecing). No fancy stitches. It is just a workhorse.
I bought the 6600 and am seriously thinking I should have gone with the 1600. My 6600 is very tempermental. On my old Janome I could just sew--nothing to tweak. I was seduced by a lot of fancy gizmos that I'll likely never need. Make sure you ask yourself what you'll really use before you choose a model.
