My son used my sewing scissors to cut gasket material for a car he was working on. He learned in short order that was not a good idea and never did it again. I keep an old pair where they are handy for using for opening envelopes, cutting string or cardboard and don't care what they use those for but my good ones are in the sewing room and everyone who comes to our house knows that you do not enter there without a specific reason and/or permission unless you want to see an Irish fit!
