Another symbol is the cents '¢' symbol. Simply press down the 'Alt' button with one hand, punch in the numbers 155, release the 'Alt' button and like magic the cent '¢' symbol will appear.
No, you need to use the numbers pad at the right of your keyboard, not the ones up above.
