You definately should spend the money and repair it. It's a great machine. The $275 fee is for the tech to take the board out of the machine... return the board to Bernina for repair and then replace board and I assume do a tune-up etc. I work for a Bernina Dealer and this is what we have to do with the older machines, as new boards are no longer available.
